What is a thermal camera?
A thermal camera detects the infrared heat given off by people, vehicles and equipment and turns those temperature differences into an image. Because it needs no visible light, it works in complete darkness.
Can thermal cameras see in complete darkness?
Yes. Thermal imaging does not rely on any light at all, so it detects intruders in total darkness and through glare, smoke, dust and light fog.
Can a thermal camera identify a face or number plate?
No – thermal shows heat shapes, not fine detail, so it cannot read faces or plates. It is used for detection, and we pair it with a visible or 4K camera when identification is required.
Where are thermal cameras used in the UAE?
Perimeter security, oil & gas, refineries, solar farms, ports, warehouses and critical infrastructure – anywhere long-range detection or early heat detection matters.
Do thermal cameras work in the daytime heat?
Yes. They detect the temperature difference between a target and its background, and we tune the analytics for the UAE climate so performance stays reliable in hot conditions.
Are thermal cameras SIRA compliant?
We design to SIRA (Dubai) and ADMCC (Abu Dhabi) standards. Thermal usually complements the identification cameras those standards require rather than replacing them.
