How long does structured cabling last?

A well-designed Cat6A and fiber system is typically specified to support 10-15+ years of equipment upgrades, because the cabling has far more headroom than the switches plugged into it.

What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?

Both look similar, but Cat6A reliably carries 10 Gigabit to the full 100m and handles Power over Ethernet heat better – making it the safer choice for new builds, Wi-Fi 6/7 and PoE devices.

Do I get any proof the cabling is good?

You should. Ask for Fluke test certificates for every link plus labelled as-built drawings. Without them, a “warranty” is just a promise.
